FOOD & BEVERAGE PIPING
Sanitary piping systems to protect product quality, maintain hygienic conditions, and comply with food safety requirements.
Food and beverage manufacturers like you rely on sanitary piping systems to protect product quality, maintain hygienic processing conditions, and comply with stringent food safety requirements. From dairy processing and beverage production to food manufacturing, ingredient handling, and packaging facilities, piping systems must provide smooth product flow while minimizing contamination risk and supporting efficient cleaning procedures.
At Douglas Barwick, we’ve been manufacturing piping systems for the Food and Beverage industry for decades.
Food and Beverage Piping Considerations
We manufacture stainless steel tubing, pipe, fittings, fabricated pipe spools, process skids, and custom assemblies for food and beverage processing facilities. Every system is fabricated to meet sanitary processing requirements while addressing the industry-specific concerns that your system needs most, including:
Food and Beverage Processing Pipe Materials
Weldable, corrosion-resistance, safe for contact with food, and easy to clean, stainless steel is the material of choice for sanitary food processing, and at Douglas Barwick, we create the bulk of our piping for the food and beverage industry from either 304L or 316L stainless steel.
304L stainless steel is the industry standard for most food and beverage applications. It provides excellent corrosion resistance, durability, and cleanability, making it ideal for processing lines, ingredient transfer, storage, and packaging systems.
For products containing higher acid concentrations, chlorides, or aggressive cleaning chemicals, 316L stainless steel provides enhanced corrosion resistance and long-term reliability, making it well suited for dairy processing, juice production, sauces, and other, more demanding food applications such as high acidity.
Common Products
We manufacture a wide range of sanitary piping products for food and beverage processing, including:
Our custom piping spools are fabricated and assembled in our shop and shipped to you as one piece to be installed. This allows for faster, easier installation and reduces the risk of mistakes during assembly.
Frequently Fabricated Sizes
At Douglas Barwick, we manufacture tubing and pipe ranging from ¾ inch NPS up to 96 inches in diameter, with fittings and accessories to match. Food and beverage processing commonly utilizes smaller diameter sanitary tubing for product transfer together with larger process piping for utilities, water systems, and bulk ingredient handling. We manufacture light-wall Schedule 10S and heavy-wall spools (14 gauge to 0.500″ wall thickness), with custom sizing available to meet sanitary project specifications.
