HVAC and Cooling Pipe Materials
Material selection is critical in data centre cooling systems, where uptime, efficiency, and reliability are essential. For your systems, we prefer the classics.
304L stainless steel is often used for chilled water loops and general cooling water systems, providing excellent corrosion resistance and cost-effective performance in controlled environments. We use 316L stainless steel where glycol systems, higher corrosion risk, or more aggressive water chemistry require enhanced durability and long-term reliability.

Frequently Fabricated Sizes
At Douglas Barwick, we manufacture pipe ranging from ¾ inch NPS up to 96 inches in diameter, with fittings and accessories to match. AI data centres like yours often use smaller-diameter distribution piping for in-rack and zone cooling systems, along with larger-diameter piping for central utility plants, chilled water distribution, and heat rejection systems. We manufacture light-wall Schedule 10S and heavy-wall spools (14 gauge to 0.500″ wall thickness), with custom sizing available to accommodate high-pressure central plant headers.
